When Kelli Holt recently learned of the plight of a fellow family of multiples, she immediately jumped into action offering to host a "Diva Day" fundraiser at her local women's clothing and accessories shoppe to benefit the family. Kelli and her husband Eric are the owners of Lillian's of Colorado Springs at 7477 N. Academy Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80920. The shoppe has been open since early February and is only open four days a month (the first Thursday through Sunday).

David and Antonia Broadwell are a couple currently living in Potomac Falls, Virginia. In July 2008, they welcomed their triplets, Lukaš, Bronte, and Aiden, into their family. Just ten months later, mom Antonia, 32, was diagnosed with a rare form of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Antonia has a tumor above her heart (about the size of an orange) that is categorized as high-grade. The tumor is cutting off blood flow to her heart, and is inoperable due to its location.

During the past year, Antonia endured chemo treatments and the couple had to give up their home and car to pay for medical bills. Through it all, Antonia’s one wish was to be near her family in Slovakia to have the security of knowing that her children will be raised surrounded by her parents, brother, grandparents, and Godparents.

Antonia’s parents gave David and Antonia a small piece of land next to them in Slovakia to build a house on, and at the end of this month, the family of five will move to Slovakia to begin the home-building process. All of the work will be done by David, and Antonia’s father and brother.

The cost of building a house from the ground up in Slovakia is around $75,000 - the family intends to complete the house for $50,000 but is in dire need of financial assistance to make this dream for Antonia a reality.

David has created a web page to raise awareness about his family’s situation, and hopes that the multiple-birth community will rise up and support him and Antonia as they begin the “barn raising” of their Slovak home. David’s main focus is on his wife and fulfilling her wish to have the home that she calls her “small peaceful corner of the world close to her family.”

Kelli and Eric hope to assist the Broadwells in their fundraising efforts by hosting a "Diva Day" fundraiser at Lillians of Colorado Springs on Sunday, April 11th from 12-4 p.m. Kelli will donate 20 percent of the sales that day to the Broadwell's barn-raising efforts. Additionally, she will have a booth at the Colorado Parents of Multiples convention on Saturday, April 10th, and will also donate 20 percent of the days' sales from that event to the Broadwells.

Please join Kelli and her friends at one or both of these events and help build Antonia's home of hope. If you can't make it to the "Diva Day" or Colorado Parents of Multiples convention, please consider donating to the Broadwells by visiting the fundraising portion of their web site and clicking on the PayPal link, or via mail at:

What an incredible story--heart wrenching & beautiful. This is what I love about fashion--so many open hearts in the industry looking for ways to help.
Lillian's is such a great place to begin with, this is just 1 more reason to support them!
