Lilith Fair hitting Nashville

Lilith Fair
(c) Lilith Fair

This summer the Lilith Fair will be hitting Nashville. The Lilith Fair was initiated in 1997 and raised over $10 million dollars for charities both local and national. It was founded by singer/songwriter Sarah McLachlan, Dan Fraser, Marty Diamond, and Terry McBride. The fair is a celebration of women in music which has featured artists like Sarah McLachlan herself, Sheryl Crow, The Dixie Chicks, Jewel, and even Tegan and Sara.

This year artists such as A Fine Frenzy, Colbie Caillat, Emmylou Harris, Indigo Girls, Kelly Clarkson, Loretta Lynn, Martina McBride, Mary J. Blige, Miranda Lambert, Norah Jones, and even Sara Bareilles will be on the tour. Just recently added to the tour are Selena Gomez and Jenni Rivera! The tour will begin on Sunday, June 27, at Calgary's McMahon Stadium in Calgary, Alabama.

Also, Sarah McLachlan is set to release her newest album, The Laws of Illusion, on June 15 through Arista Records. This is her first studio album in seven years, so I'm betting it's gonna be good. Fans who pre-order the album will be given access to Lilith tickets before they're available anywhere else. And, you can get a download of her new song, "One Dream!"

Unfortunately, there isn't a set date or place for when the Lilith Tour will be coming through Nashville, but you can keep checking the Lilith site by clicking here. By the way, $1 from every Lilith ticket sold will be donated to a local charity of each city the festival visits. You can vote for several charities within Nashville through FaceBook by clicking here.

The charities are:
Christian Women's Job Corp
Women on Maintaining Education and Nutrition
Junior League of Nashville
The Next Door
CABLE Connects
Rape and Sexual Abuse Center of Davidson County
Nashville Rescue Mission
Renewal House
Tennessee Coalition Against Domestic & Sexual Violence

Below is a video of Sarah McLachlan and Emmylou Harris performing "Angel" together on Jimmy Kimmel Live. The show aired on Thursday, March 25 on ABC.
