Liliana of the Dark Realms is one of several "Magic: The Gathering" cards spoiled today July 3, 2013 from Wizards of the Coast's upcoming "Magic: 2014 Core Set." While the card was named when Garruk, Caller of Beasts was revealed, Liliana of the Dark Realms wasn't officially confirmed until an update to the card image gallery on DailyMTG.com this morning.

-6 Loyalty: You get an emblem with "Swamps you control have 'Tap: Add BBBB to your mana pool.'"
Starting Loyalty of 3
Liliana of the Dark Realms was originally printed in the "Magic 2013 Core Set" and is the third version of the planeswalker to date.
- Liliana Vess
- Liliana of the Veil
- Liliana of the Dark Realms
Liliana of the Dark Realms' first ability will give you card advantage while thinning your library so there's a better chance of drawing business spell. Thanks to the shock lands being reprinted in the "Return to Ravnica" block you'll be able to pack your deck with Swamps while still playing spells from other colors. Every Swamp you have matters, allowing you to reap the benefits from her two other powerful abilities.
Once you have five or more Swamps on the battlefield, Liliana of the Dark Realms' second ability can allow you to take out almost any creature your opponent controls. Alternatively you can pump one of your creatures, transforming that helpless Festering Newt into a game ending threat even without the help from Bogbrew Witch or Bubbling Cauldron.
Liliana of the Dark Realms' third ability allows you to cast massive spells or activate a ton of abilities. With just six Swamps on the battlefield you'll be able to generate a whopping 28 black mana. What you do with all that is up to you. Cards with X in their casting cost, like Volcanic Geyser or Rakdos's Return, will most likely end the game for you right then and there.
Because the effectiveness of Liliana of the Dark Realms relies heavily upon the amount of Swamps you control, cards like Mutiliate, Nightmare, and Dark Prophecy are worth considering in your deck.
How will you use Liliana of the Dark Realms?
