Lil Wayne, his Young Money Entertainment label and Trufit clothing line are being sued by a man claiming he was hit on the head by someone working for the rapper, according to Feb. 8 E! News report.
In the lawsuit filed on Feb. 8, plaintiff Alfredo Marino alleges that he was hit in the back of the head by “what appeared to be a skateboard” while attempting to take a photograph of the Lil Wayne on a Los Angeles street.
Marino contends that while he does not know “who intentionally struck [him] on the back of his head,” he believes it was someone employed by the rapper on May 3, 2013, the day of the alleged incident.
A source close to the litigation told E! News that the “alleged situation happened so long ago and really was not a big deal at the time,” adding, “It is shocking to a lot of us that so many months later this is being brought to court.”
Marino is seeking unspecified damages for a range of alleged misconduct, including assault, battery, negligent hiring and negligent supervision.
There are no reports that the rapper participated in or was involved in the alleged assault on Marino.
