Lil Wayne seizures: Lil Wayne ‘is expected to recover’

Lil Wayne “is recovering and appreciates everyone's concern," informs a publicist for Lil Wayne in regard to the most recent update on Lil Wayne’s health condition. In addition to Lil Wayne’s publicist, Mack Maine, Lil Wayne’s friend, rapper and Cash Money president, also denies any reports that Lil Wayne is in a coma at Los Angels' Cedars-Sinai Hospital. In a Friday night report at 9:30 p.m. (ET) on March 15, 2013, Rolling Stone wrote that,

“A publicist for Wayne also issued a brief statement to Rolling Stone: ‘Wayne is doing well now. He is recovering and appreciates everyone's concern’.”

As of Friday night, 9:10 p.m. (PST), Mack Maine’s Twitter page still posts that “We will be releasing an official statement shortly but dont believe the nonsense about comas and tubes to breathe...that's false!!”

Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, had been taken to the hospital Tuesday evening after experiencing multiple seizures. He was released Wednesday but rushed to the hospital again after a bodyguard found him unconscious in a room.

This is not the first time Lil Wayne experienced seizures. Last October, he had seizure-like symptoms while he was on a private jet. Lil Wayne’s health condition in October forced the plane to make an emergency landing in Texas and Lil Wayne was taken to a local hospital there.

This time, Lil Wayne’s seizures resurfaced just before his album “I am Not a Human II” is scheduled to be released on March 26, 2013.

The rumor that 30-year-old New Orleans rapper Lil Wayne was in critical condition at Los Angels' Cedars-Sinai Hospital began after TMZ reported on Friday that Lil Wayne was in the ICU in critical condition after he had suffered another seizure “and we're told it doesn't look good ... TMZ has learned.”

TMZ did not specify who might have provided the information that it did not look good for Lil Wayne or how TMZ learned about the serious condition that Lil Wayne was reported to be in.

Los Angels' Cedars-Sinai Hospital does not usually release any information about its patients to the media or the public.

TMZ’s Friday report about Lil Wayne’s condition has changed from being in a coma and having been given the last rites (information that has been removed by now) to being in critical condition but stabilizing. TMZ also reported that Lil Wayne’s mother was on her way and that as of

“5:16 PM PT -- Wayne's mother is currently on a plane flying to Los Angeles -- and we're told all major decisions about Wayne's health (including the decision to discontinue life support) will not be made until she arrives.”

TMZ’s last update “at 6:30 PM PT -- Sources at the hospital tell us Wayne is still in critical condition in the ICU ... but stabilizing. We're told the prognosis is uncertain.”

In contrast to TMZ, Rolling Stone reported that Mack Maine had tweeted that “he was watching a basketball game with Wayne and that fans would hear an update from the rapper soon. Shortly after, Wayne tweeted, ‘I'm good everybody. Thx for the prayers and love’."

In addition to the information provided by Mack Maine, Rolling Stone also writes that “Sources close to Wayne tell Rolling Stone that while the rapper did indeed have a seizure that sent him to the hospital, he is expected to recover.”

According to a San Diego 10News report on Friday evening of March 15, 2013, Mack Maine has addressed TMZ and its report, tweeting, "... don't deceive the fans or the people ..." and "... definitely don't try to kill a man before his time ..."

Lil Wayne’s fans are concerned because Mack Maine’s Twitter page promise that “We will be releasing an official statement shortly” has still not been updated for the past five hours. Concerned fans deserve more.
