Earlier this evening, reports began flooding in that Lil Wayne is in ICU and a coma after suffering one or more additional seizures.
TMZ is reporting he's in critical condition at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles in a medically induced coma and was "unstable after suffering another seizure." According to several Tweets and Billboard.com, this is not an accurate statement.
Mack Maine, president of Young Money tweeted several times indicating Lil Wayne is "alive and well" and that they will be releasing an official statement soon, but "don't believe the nonsense about comas and tubes to breathe...that's false!!"
The article by TMZ indicates an update at 5:16 PM Pacific Time that Lil Wayne's mother was currently on a plane headed to Los Angeles and all major decisions regarding his health (including decision to discontinue life support) will not occur until she arrives.
The 30-year-old rapper, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., was hospitalized earlier this week after suffering seizures while shooting a music video for Nicki Minaj's newest single, High School. He went in Tuesday night after suffering multiple seizures and released early Wednesday.
