Lil Wayne releases music video for "6 Foot, 7 Foot" (Review)

Today (March 3rd), hip-hop artist Lil Wayne's music video for "6 Foot, 7 Foot" was released a day early, and the Inception filled knock-off was full of Young Money members, beautiful girls, and literally lyric for sceen shots.

You can watch the music video to the left, or click here to open it up into a new window. The video also features Cory Gunz, who has a verse in the song.

The music video for Lil Wayne's "6 Foot, 7 Foot" starts with him being dunked in a bathtub Inception style before jumping to his subconscious. He starts off wearing military attire, with Young Money (minus Drake, Nicki Minaj, Shanell, and a few others) behind him. What does it say that they are all dressed up in red except for Lil Wayne and Lil Twist? Is it because they both have Lil in their nickname, or is it because Wayne has been pushing Lil Twist onto fans pretty hard recently, and he wanted him to stand out.

So what exactly goes on in Lil Wayne's mind? Beautiful women walking around in next to nothing of course! That and Lil Wayne striking poses in a white room. Also, for this video who ever thought of the treatment went way too literal for the lyrics.

During certain lyrics, the actions on the screen will mimic it. When Lil Wayne says, "Black and white diamonds, f__k segregation," the camera literally pans to Lil Wayne's next as he shows off two necklaces, one with black diamonds, and the other white diamonds.

During the lyrics, "Young Money's running s__t," the shot literally goes to a member of Young Money running in a race, and winning. During the lyrics, "I lost my mind, it's somewhere out there stranded," the shot literally goes to Lil Wayne's brain being tossed away from his body, and Wayne grabbing for it.

I could go on, but I think you get the point. There was way too much literally lyric for shot going on in the "6 Foot, 7 Foot" music video.  When videos do that, it cheapens them.

During the parts of the video that mimic Inception, now that was great. The entire music video should have been Inception-esque not just flashes of it.

Also, when did Lil Wayne get new face tattoos? Anyone else notice he has gotten two new pieces of ink on his face since he graced the cover of Rolling Stone? What did you think of the Lil Wayne music video for "6 Foot, 7 Foot"? Leave comments below, or connect with me via Twitter: @NatalieChicago
