Lil Wayne jail sentence: One year in prison after pleading guilty

Lil Wayne's jail sentence is one year

Lil Wayne is going to jail for having a .40 caliber pistol that was found on his tour bus back in 2007.

The rap artist may have more to worry about, however, because he has other charges pending for felony drug and weapon possession. That incident occurred in Arizona where authorities allegedly found marijuana, cocaine, ecstasy, and a pistol on his tour bus.

That's the state Lil Wayne needs to worry about. If he was in Sheriff Arpaio's backyard when that incident occurred, the hard-core rapper will literally be wearing pink panties if sentenced to county time.

In New York, however, gun laws are much more stringent and Lil Wayne probably would not be facing much jail time in most other states for a like offense. He was not out waving it around, pokin' it in folk's faces, carjacking, or doing armed robberies with the heater. Although he was wrong, the plea deal for a year in jail is severe. New York ain't playin' though, and the only person Lil Wayne will be rappin' with is the echo bouncing off the steel and concrete jail house walls.

Legal woe's timeline

More important is Wayne's admitted addiction to cough syrup. "Lil Wayne fans have long seen the star sipping out of a Styrofoam cup in video and in concert, and the rapper now confirms what many have suspected," says Choose Help

The syrup contains promethazine and codeine, an opiate. Not sure if they give out medication in the county jails there for narcotic's addiction, but if they don't, the rapper will be crapping his pants inside of three days from withdrawal symptoms.

Hopefully, he will have some kind of assistance with those withdrawals, because no one deserves to go through that mess. It is literally a nightmare, especially being unable to sleep, and the only things you have to stare at are a sour smelling bunky and cement walls in the jail. And that is where Lil Wayne will be feeling his worst if still addicted to the syrup, the county jail.

Lil Wayne's admission to syrup addiction

Lil Wayne is a busy rapper and you can find him on other singers and rappers songs. He obviously has talent, but lacked judgment in his instant troubles. Addiction will do that. Doesn't matter who or what you are.

Maybe Lil Wayne can get his life together now, as far as his addiction to drugs is concerned. It is doubtful that he stopped abusing the substances before his sentencing today, so now would be a good opportunity to get a handle on his addiction.
