Lil Wayne hospitalized: Too much 'sippin' on Sizzurp'?

Lil Wayne has been hospitalized, reported The Huffington Post, March 14. The 30-year-old rapper was hospitalized Tuesday at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles due to a seizure he suffered after shooting a music video. Apparently, he's doing better.

It is not the hip-hop artist's first seizure. Last October he suffered a seizure on his private plane, and then he had another seizure on another flight. At the time his rep claimed the seizures were due to "severe migraines and dehydration." However, later the rapper admitted he was on seizure medication.

Could "sippin' on Sizzurp" be the cause of the seizures? As reported at MERDJ, rapper Rick Ross, who allegedly drinks Sizzurp, also had seizures. Sizzurp is known under other names, such as Purple Drank. It is a mixture of vodka, soda and cough medicine typically consumed in a Styrofoam cup. According to MERDJ, it is "extremely addictive, and the withdraw is that of a heroin addict. It’s also said that the symptom of each main ingredient in the mix gives a seizure like reaction."

"Do your history, do your research," said Lil Wayne, as reported at MTV in 2008. "It ain't that easy — feels like death in your stomach when you stop doing that sh--. You gotta learn how to stop, you gotta go through detox. You gotta do all kinds of stuff."

Do you think Lil Wayne was hospitalized due to a seizure brought on by drinking Sizzurp?
