Rapper Lil Wayne was briefly hospitalized from suspected seizures earlier this week, at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles. The hip hop artist was already reportedly taking anti-seizure medication, reports MTV on Thursday, March 14, from a series of seizure-like episodes which began on his private jet back in October. The plane made an emergency landing.
Lil Wayne was hospitalized over Tuesday night. These are busy – and stressful times for the rapper, whose current single, "Love Me," is climbing the Billboard rap chart. In just over a week, Lil Wayne will be releasing his 10th solo LP, “I Am Not a Human Being II.” It’s hard to be at your professional best with recurring seizures in your immediate past.
The hospital is the same one where Kelly Osbourne was taken, suffering from the same – or a similar – condition. Seizures have many causes, and they can be serious or not. The loss of control is always frightening.
Lil Wayne is also known as “Weezy,” and by his real name, Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. His original “I Am Not a Human Being” album was released while the artist was in jail, stemming from a conviction on a weapons charge. It seems he has led a stressful life, and stress can be a background cause of mental breakdown.
The rapper’s representatives have declined to comment on his current condition. He is thought to be out of the hospital and resting at home.
