Lil Wayne is getting out of jail at Rikers Island in New York on Thursday. The release process for Lil Wayne could start at early at 4 a.m. Bill Clinton wishes the 28-year-old rapper the best.
On March 8, Lil Wayne started his one-year sentence for gun charges. Lil Wayne will begin the exit process at Rikers Island on November 4. Bill Clinton said about Lil Wayne, “This guy's smart, and he's got ability, and he's got a new chance now. What I hope will happen is that he has a good life now.”
USA Today reports Lil Wayne thankfully stated in his blog, “I think back to when I first arrived and I had no clue of what I'd be experiencing. I was never scared, worried, nor bothered by the situation. For that, I thank God, my family, and you, my amazing fans. I prayed for you all every night, as I'm aware that I was in your prayers as well. I will be the same Martian I was when I left, just better."
After his release from Rikers Island in New York, CNN reports Lil Wayne will fly to Miami, Florida for a welcome home party given by his record label.
Lil Wayne publicist Kia Selby states the rapper will be heading to the studio soon to work on new music for his dedicated fans.
During his stay at Rikers Island, Lil Wayne spent his last month in punitive segregation after an MP3 charger and headsets were found in his cell.
Last month, the digital version of Lil Wayne's new album “I Am Not a Human Being” was released on his birthday on September 27 while he was in jail.
Lil Wayne was born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. in 1982 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Lil Wayne's conviction in New York started with a 2007 arrest outside the Beacon Theater. The police stated the rapper had a .40 caliber pistol on his tour bus. His lawyer asserted the pistol belonged to someone else.
