"Lil Wayne ejected from Arena" screamed headlines, but Wayne's purported ejection from the Miami Heat vs. LA Lakers game may not have happened like he stated. According to a report from late Sunday (Feb. 10), Wayne has a different story than another fan sitting near him in the stands.
While attending the Heat-Lakers game, Lil Wayne took to Twitter with a post that riled up his fans. Wayne posted, "So I'm @ da Heat game right, rootin 4 da Lakers kuz dats my team & would u believe they got police 2 make me leave?! Wow!" He was claiming that he got ejected simply for rooting for the Lakers while in Miami.
Then there is another version of the story, reported by a fan named Danny Vega who also posted to Twitter what he saw happening. Vega stated, "Random guy yelled at Lil Wayne at #MiamiHEAT game, Weezy looked back, gave him a mean stare & gestured he had a gun." Later he would post again to Twitter, stating that, "Weezy just got into argument with security at the #MiamiHEAT game. He got kicked out for gun gesture."
The differing stories here seem to indicate an extreme difference in opinion about what went on. When a Heat spokesman talked about the incident after the game, he stated that Lil Wayne chose to leave and was not kicked out. That's three different versions of the story, but maybe behavior in his past could indicate that Lil Wayne may have been at fault here.
So did Lil Wayne get ejected or did he simply decide to leave? The truth to this whole situation might only ever be revealed if it turns out that another fan in the arena decided to record it on their cell phone. As for the game, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade led the Heat to an impressive 107-97 win over Kobe Bryant's Lakers.
