Lil Wayne fans are about to be very disappointed.
The Young Money chief in command has postponed the release of Dedication 5. The new mixtape, hosted by DJ Drama, was scheduled to drop at 5 pm EST on Friday but has been delayed. The big announcement was made on YoungMoney.com
'The release of Dedication 5 has been temporarily postponed for a short period while Wayne puts finishing touches on it – including another new song. Stay tuned for an update,' read the message.
Young Money President Mack Maine, tried to reassure Wayne fans by insisting that the delay would not be too long.
'Delayed for a few hours not days and weeks,' he tweeted.
Wayne’s previous mixtape, 'Dedication 4', was pushed back before ultimately being released on Sept. 3. A few weeks ago, Lil Wayne admitted to his fans via Twitter that in light of him not being nominated for VMA's or BET awards this year, he felt that his music was not up to par. Perhaps Wayne is finally pushing himself to be a better lyricist than he's been in recent years.
