Lil Wayne isn’t dead. The latest death hoax of the artist has people concerned, but once the truth is revealed everyone realizes the rapper is alive and well. On Tuesday the death hoax had people examining their computers as people are reporting the video shared with the story and a virus attached.
Using a common tactic of malware, the video required users to share it before it could be viewed. This is how many people feel a virus was loaded on their machines before forwarding it on the next victim. Of course the video was less than accurate and claimed that Lil Wayne’s health issue of epilepsy was what set off the chance of events. However, nobody knew that until the video was shared.
It’s pretty peculiar that the hoax comes at a time when people are getting ready for the holidays. Spreading messages of happiness and good cheer through social media, it seems that the hoax was planted perfectly.
While some fans watch careers of successful artists very closely, Lil Wayne fans are particularly close to the entertainer. It’s surprising the death hoax got as far as it did, but then again the Internet is so fast it’s hard to stop a rumor when it uses social media.
