Rapper Lil Wayne was actually given his last rites on Friday, March 15, 2013, according to TMZ, and was in critical condition, but is now said to be stabilizing. As of 9:30 p.m. EST, TMZ states that Lil Wayne is currently still in critical condition in the ICU, but that his condition is stabilizing, and the prognosis is unknown.
Oddly enough, TMZ had last heard that Lil Wayne was sleeping, but that he had just tweeted moments before that he was doing alright and thanked everyone for prayers and love.
Multiple rappers and friends of the singer are taking to Twitter with mixed reports that he is home or watching a basketball game with them. It's quite confusing right now.
This story has gotten quite strange since Lil Wayne was hospitalized on Tuesday after suffering severe seizures yet again. He suffered one again on Friday and was hospitalized earlier in the day, and it just seemed to get worse from there.
Word is that Lil Wayne was released from the hospital early on Wednesday morning, but then one of his bodyguards found him unconscious on the floor in his room hours later.
Lil Wayne was brought to the hospital quickly on Friday afternoon, and taken to the ICU because he would not stabilize like he did earlier in the week. He was even placed in restraints due to his violent and uncontrollable shaking.
Lil Wayne had been placed in an induced coma and was breathing through tubes.
Reports had come out that he had been read his last rites, was surrounded by friends and family, and that his mother was flying out to Los Angeles. Around 8:15 p.m. EST, it was said that no decisions on his health (including possibly discontinuing life support) would be made until his mother arrived.
A little over an hour later, Lil Wayne was said to be stabilizing. This story is far from over.
