Lil Wayne is comatose following seizures brought on by possible overdose of 'sizzurp,' family preparing for last rites.Lil Wayne, 30, is in critical condition at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles following another bout with seizures according to TMZ reports on Friday, March 15. This time the news is grim for the rapper's family as doctor's prepare them for the worst.
Lil Wayne's family has been called in according to the celebrity news site and are surrounding the hip hop star to say their final goodbyes.
As previously reported Lil Wayne was rushed to the L.A. hospital on Tuesday,March 13 after suffering a number of seizures. Lil Wayne was released on Wednesday, and was found only hours later by his bodyguard in his room,lying on the floor, unconscious.
He was rushed immediately to the hospital again, but this time the doctors were unable to stabilize the singer. Lil Wayne was placed in the ICU unit in restraints to attempt to control the shaking, the doctors have since place Lil Wayne into a medically induced coma, where he is relying on breathing tubes.
Sources close to Lil Wayne have stated that their is evidence that Wayne went on a "Sizzurp" binge after he was released from the hospital on Wednesday, they also stated that Lil Wayne's medical team were forced to pump the singer's stomach three times after finding excessively high amounts of codeine in his system.
"Sizzurp" also known as "Purple Drank" is a slang term for a recreational drug popular in the hip hop community in the southern United States, originating in Houston, Texas. Its main ingredient is prescription-strength cough syrup containing codeine and promethazine. Cough syrup is typically mixed with ingredients such as Sprite soft drink or Mountain Dew and pieces of Jolly Rancher candy. The purplish hue of purple drank comes from dyes in the cough syrup.
