So when it comes to NBA games, is Lil Wayne banned? According to the league, that's not the case, even though the hip hop star claims he isn't being allowed entry to any more events.
A report on Feb. 19 from MTV.com indicates that while Weezy says he has been denied access to live NBA games he wants to attend, the NBA is saying that's not the case. The news arrives not long after Wayne said he was thrown out of an NBA game for cheering for the visiting squad.
MTV reported on Wayne's claims:
"A spokesperson for the league told MTV News that he wasn't barred from attending any events during All-Star Weekend, and in an email to The Miami Herald, NBA senior VP Tim Frank said that any rumors of a league-wide ban were 'not true.'"
The latest incident during which Wayne was claiming he was "ejected from a game," came when he was at a Miami Heat game, but rooting for the visiting Los Angeles Lakers. He claims he was kicked out for cheering for the Lakers, but others say he was "asked to leave." Another spokesperson for the Miami Heat said he "left of his own volition."
To add to that, Lil Wayne had an incident last year during the playoffs when he claims he was denied entry to an Oklahoma City Thunder game. However, a team spokesperson said he was denied entry because no more tickets were available for that game, and Wayne requested them last minute.
Wayne's next album is still on the way entitled "I Am Not a Human Being II," which may help explain some of the things he's been saying lately. Recently he went on a tirade full of profanities towards members of the Miami Heat team including LeBron James and Chris Bosh. Now that might get him banned.
So is Lil Wayne banned from NBA games for real, or just making stuff up to be funny? Should he be banned from NBA games?
