Today, TLC fans all over the globe, primarily the Twitterverse, received news that rapper Lil Mama will be taking on the role of the late Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes in the upcoming and highly anticipated TLC biopic, which is the first in a series of music-focused TV films for VH1.
Many of Lil Mama's fans took to Twitter to congratulate her on the role after hip hop legend, MC Lyte, dropped the news during an interview with Hip Hollywood, where she spoke highly of Lil Mama.
The TLC film will display the legendary group's start in Atlanta, Ga, their rise to fame and the many tragedies that struck them throughout the years. Chilli and T-Boz are both consultants and executive producers of the film, and they have teamed up with talented screenwriter, Kate Lanier, the woman who brought us Set it Off and What's Love Got to Do With It?
Filming is set to start soon.
