Like Shaun White's Halfpipe, Keystone is a Hidden Gem!

Ridges, bowls, rails, jumps, and trees; these are just a few common words that can be used to describe Keystone Resort. This hidden gem located approximately 70 miles from Denver has more to offer than what meets the eye.

One of the best features that Keystone offers is a variety of peaks for skiers and riders to venture off to. The first peak, known as Dercum Mountain, is ideal for any beginner to intermediate rider. The second mountain, or North Peak, offers trails that are more designed for intermediate riders; while the famous Outback Peak offers runs for advanced shredders.

Along with its great variety of runs, Keystone is also home to one of the most recognized terrain parks in the world. Keystone's terrain park, commonly known as A51, was recently voted as the second best terrain park in all of North America. The park is divided into a series of trails designed to give a certain degree of difficulty for every rail seeker, starting with Freda's Incubator for easy sliders and jumps, to I-70 on the far west side offering more difficult hits.

Now many people reading this might wonder about how great the snow can be if it is located so close to Denver. Yes, it is true that the best powder lies within the San Juan Mountain range in the southwest region of the state. But, Keystone has proven time and time again to be a different story. With most of the mountain facing north, the direct light from the sun does not reach over half of the runs. This causes most of the falling snow to simply build up through out the span of the week; which always leaves some fresh snow for every powder seeker.

If that is not enough to convince riders, Keystone receives an annual snowfall of 230 inches. That is over 19 feet of snow! Along with over 100 trails accessible by chairlift, each rider can also access incredible bowls and steeps by hiking or by taking a snow cat for a cash fee. With all these features, plus many more, it is no wonder why “It's all here” at Keystone Resort.
