Light snow to taper late, colder by dawn

Miami Valley , Whitewater Valley, and the I-71 corridor of Ohio/Indiana:

Synopsis,
A winter storm that tracked a lot further North than previously expected will taper by midnight with an additional inch or less on top of already 3 to 5 inches of snow. Winds will pick up to 20 mph at times tonight, blowing and some drifting of snow can be expected. Temperatures will drop to near 10 by dawn so the effectiveness of salt will likely go down. Roads will remain slick through tomorrow morning. This low will pull away tomorrow allowing for some peaks of sun tomorrow afternoon with temperatures remaining cold with highs in the lower 20s as North winds keep the cold locked in. Tomorrow night a weak clipper will bring a fresh one inch of snow for most. During the day Sunday high pressure will settle in by late day bringing any snow showers or flurries to an end by midday. This will allow for clear skies and cold conditions to be with us one more night Sunday night. Monday another system approaches from the West bringing a bit milder air in meaning most of the precipitation will be in the form of rain with some snow before ending Monday night. After that temperature remain milder but still a bit cool with the chances for some light rain showers by Wednesday afternoon.

Long range:
It still looks likely that very warm air may move in by Thursday, however warm air over snow pack and cold ground comes the possibility of fog and drizzle. A storm system by late week may bring heavy flooding rains on top of frozen ground and this could cause problems. Stay tuned.
