Several weak weather systems will bring opportunities for light snow over the next few days. The best shot will be early Monday morning. A small clipper system will put down a swath of snow from Indianapolis to southern Ohio Sunday night. The highest amounts will be around an inch and generally be south of Columbus. Towards the city, expect only a dusting to half an inch.
With morning lows in the teens, even a half inch of snow could cause slick spots on the roads. Use extra caution and plan for a little extra time when leaving early Monday morning.
The snow showers will dissipate by afternoon but clouds will linger. Expect highs to remain in the 20s all day with a breeze making it feel more like the teens.
Two more clipper systems will swing by to our north on Monday night and Tuesday afternoon. Both will bring accumulating snow to northern Indiana and Ohio. A dusting of snow will be possible Monday night and Tuesday evening from these small weather makers in central Ohio.
There is some good weather news going forward! A big time warm up is in the cards for the second half of this upcoming week. Highs will soar into the 40s on Thursday and even 50s on Friday! Rain will enter the forecast on Friday as a cold front sags southeast into Ohio.
Cooler weather will return for the weekend but arctic air is not back in the forecast quite yet. The front may stall near the region meaning the threat for showers will remain. If you have been keeping up with my articles the past few days, you may have heard a mention about a potential storm system for next weekend. The chances are looking lower, but there is still a possibility of a secondary area of low pressure riding up that stalled front next Sunday and early the following week. This could result in wintery weather or just some additional rain. Stay with examiner.com for the latest forecast updates.
