Kathie Gonzalez, LyonShare Communications Group, in a January 28 press release, put the spotlight on some super Liftopia ski resort deals.

With the Super Bowl just a few days away, Liftopia is posting some great deals on lift tickets at nearby Tahoe ski resorts. The Game Day deals cover more than just our bit of California, though.

Gonzalez pointed out some interesting information in the press release:

"With more than 164 million people expected to watch the big game on Sunday, Feb. 2, it’s the perfect time to hit the slopes and score some of the best deals of the year on lift tickets. Liftopia, the largest online and mobile marketplace for lift tickets and other mountain activities, today launched its annual Game Day Sale, with prices starting at $19.99 – as much as 56 percent off walk-up window rates – at more than 250 resorts across North America."

While the football fanatics will be planted firmly in front of the tube, skiers and boarders are likely to head for their favorite ski resort. Why? Shorter lift lines and a fine day of skiing or boarding. Not only that, but for the Tahoe area, there's likely to be fresh snow to cavort around on, something we haven't seen enough this season.

Evan Reece, co-founder and CEO of Liftopia, had this to say about the Game Day deals:

"Super Bowl Sunday is one of the best days of the year to get out on the hill. You’ll find wide-open trails, no lift lines, and great bars and restaurants to view the game when it starts at 6:30 p.m. EST. You might as well burn some calories on the hill before you dive into those wings. Since this Sunday is traditionally a low-demand day for resorts, our partners offer some of their best weekend deals of the year for our Game Day Sale. The average booked savings on Liftopia for Super Bowl Sunday last year was 33 percent – representing the best value of any Sunday during the regular ski season."

Gonzalez points out that a day on the slopes prior to the game just may save that New Year's resolution to be more active and to be much more dedicated to losing some of the couch inspired football watching weight that may have snuck up on you.

If you aren't a football person, just imagine the wide open trails and short lift lines on Super Bowl Sunday. You might as well take advantage of a great lift ticket price and great conditions at the Tahoe resorts.
