A Lifetime license allows you to enjoy a lifetime’s worth of hunting, big game, Wildlife Management Area, and fishing privileges in the State of Georgia. The Georgia Sportsman’s License covers all hunting, salt, mountain trout and freshwater fishing licenses. T
he Federal Duck Stamp and the Federal Harvest Information Program Permit required for dove hunting and migratory fowl, and the free State Deer Dog Hunting License, and free Sip Saltwater fishing License, and the free Alligator quota permit. These five licenses must be renewed each year. Lifetime licenses are valid for life, even if you move out of Georgia.
You must be a United States citizen and Georgia resident for twelve months before you buy the license
A Lifetime license makes thing so much easier than trying to keep up with all of the dates and fees. Even if you go alligator hunting you’ve got the tag already covered. They make a great gift for your children and one they will carry with them, cherish and remember for the rest of their lives. Buy you child the license when they are small and the price difference is huge and worth it. If you are a disabled Vet you can get your license free.
How to Apply
You can download a Lifetime Sportsman’s License application and mail it in or hand deliver it to one of the Wildlife Resource Offices. The license can’t be purchased online because of the documentation requirement. Credit card transactions are not available at all WRD Offices. Call ahead to verify.
Fees and document requirements:
If you are mailing them in, a copy of all proof requirements in necessary.
Infant-two years old and under $200, Child’s birth certificate, and parents ID, copy of proof of parents residency.
Youth ages 2-15 $350 Child’s birth certificate, parents ID, copy of proof of parents residency.
Adults $500 Picture ID, Proof of residency, Hunter Education card (required for ages 16-25).
Seniors 60-64 $95 Picture ID,
Seniors 65 and over $10 the fee is only if you want your license laminated in plastic credit-card like style.
Veterans $400 Picture ID, Proof of residency, DD 214 proving that applicant served more than 90 days of federal active duty military service and was honorably discharged and Hunter Education Card (only number required if you are 26 and over and born on or after 1/1/61.
Non-resident grandchild $1000 Birth certificate, notarized certification of relationship or license holder and grandchild, Grandparents picture ID, Grandparents proof of residency.
Trapping and commercial licenses are not included in the lifetime license.
