Lifetime Orders New Satire Series, 'Un-Real'

Lifetime has given a 10-episode pickup to the hour-long scripted dark comedy 'UnReal,' according to TVLine. The series will offer a behind-the-scenes look into the chaotic world surrounding the production of a dating competition program. The series will star Shiri Appleby ('Roswell') and will be written and produced by Marti Noxon ('Buffy the Vampire Slayer').

Appleby's character is part of the staff team of the dating competition whose main job is to manipulate her relationships among and with the show's contestants in order to meet the demands of her executive producer, played by Megyn Price ('Rules of Engagement').

The site is also reporting that former 'Vampire Diaries' actress Arielle Kebbel will guest star as a contestant named Courtney, and let's just say, she doesn't have any filters.

What do you think about 'UnReal'? I wonder if they're aiming to mock contestants on 'The Bachelor'.
