Too many people say, "I want to lose weight so I can eat whatever I want." That's accentuating the problem, not moving toward the solution. There is no way to continue eating sugar, fats and empty calories while expecting to lose or maintain weight. Sure its a challenge to change these harmful habits, no one said it was a snap. However, its also the cheapest, easiest and most lasting way to restore or improve health.
A recent study from Time 2 Do More revealed shocking statistics. Among persons with Type 2 diabetes, 60% did nothing to increase exercise and 50% refused to make changes in what they ate. For people with diabetes, losing excess fat to reach a healthy BMI is about more than losing weight, its about saving their life and limbs.
Even if you are not diabetic, this study has a message for you: Stop > Challenge > Choose. I will be among a dedicated group of Certified Health Coaches who are part of the 12 Week Health Challenge launching in January. More information is coming soon on how you can use this dedicated time to make health changes or refinements to your health.
