The new Steve James documentary film "Life Itself" based on famed movie critic Roger Ebert's memoir will premiere at this year's Sundance Film Festival.

To give fans a chance to be a part of the unprecedented live stream and Q&A of the film premiere, the filmmakers have extended their Indiegogo campaign through midnight of January 13.

All donors who contribute $25 or more will be able to watch a private live stream of "Life Itself" that will occur simultaneously to the film's world premiere screening at Sundance on January 19.

Additionally, Indiegogo supporters from all over the world will have the ability to participate in an interactive Q&A with the filmmakers, and other luminaries close to Roger Ebert, via live stream video.

Fans will also be able to ask questions about Roger Ebert, the making of the film, and what he meant to the people whose lives he touched.

"Life Itself" is the first ever feature-length documentary on the life of Roger Ebert. It covers the prolific critic’s life journey from his days at the University of Illinois, to his move to Chicago where he became the first film critic ever to win the Pulitzer Prize, then to television where he and Gene Siskel became iconic stars, and finally to what Roger referred to as “his third act”; how he overcame disabilities wrought by cancer to became a major voice on the internet and through social media.

Director Steve James ("Hoop Dreams") conducted interviews with over two dozen people, including lifelong friends, professional colleagues, the first ever interview with Gene Siskel’s wife, and filmmakers Errol Morris, Werner Herzog, Ramin Bahrani, Gregory Nava, Ava DuVernay, and Martin Scorsese, who is one of the executive producers.

“This movie is a love story really –– Roger’s love for movies, for Chaz, and even in his own way, his love for Gene. Ultimately, though, it’s a film about Roger’s love for life itself," stated James.
