Life has become seemingly difficult for many people these days. Society has dealt some hard blows. Between job losses and cutbacks, the housing industry decline, prices going up on many everyday items, and so many other issues facing, it can be hard just to face the day. Don't give up hope, though. God is with us. Keeping that in mind helps to make for a better day.
With all of the stresses in our lives today, it can be hard to sort things out. First of all, it is important to realize that we are not alone in whatever struggles we are facing. There are a lot of people facing hardships right now. It could be a health problem, unwanted weight gain, family issues, or any number of other things. Everyone has something to deal with. This is what life brings.
By putting God in our lives and knowing that we need His help is one very important step. We can only do what we can do, the rest is up to Him. By approaching each day with a positive attitude, doing what is expected of us, and not letting all of the worries and stress get to us, makes dealing with everything a lot easier. We need to accept the fact that the past is past, and there is nothing we can do about it except to look forward to a better future. Tomorrow is not here yet, so there is no need to worry about it. It will take care of itself when it gets here. All we have is the present moment. What do we need to do right now? Is there something we should be doing that will make things better? If so, get to it. If not, relax and take a some time just to enjoy the present moment.
When planning the day, it helps to set goals of what would be the main things to accomplish. Allow some time for meals, exercise, relaxation, and a little bit of fun--along with a good night's sleep. Each of these things is essential for one's health. If there is a job to go to, we go and do our best. If unemployed, set a particular number of hours each day that are to be spent in the realm of a job search. If that means searching online for jobs, filling out applications, or making preparations of getting clothes pressed for an interview, then include this in that time frame. The job search can be rather depressing, and can sometimes feel like a roller-coaster ride, but it is best to take it all in stride. God knows what the right job is and when it shall come along. He will work out the details. We just have to do our part of not giving up.
Putting God first in our lives and giving Him all of our concerns makes it easier to deal with life each day. It takes away the anxiety, depression, and other unhealthy emotions. He provides peace. It is written in Isaiah 41: 13, "For I am the Lord, your God, who grasp your right hand; It is I who say to you, 'Fear not, I will help you,'" (The New American Bible, 1991, Wichita, KS: Devore & Sons, Inc.). When we give everything to God, life becomes easier. He is there for us. He cares about us and loves each and every one of us. Let go of the stress. Let God handle it. Life will be a lot easier to get through with His help.
