The Link Up Conference is an empowering and uplifting day for youth and families. It brings together individuals and organizations committed to knowing and teaching the latest best tools and practices in youth development.

Beginning at 10.am, Texas Poet Laureate nominee and internationally ranked spoken word artist, Outspoken Bean, and past Houston Grand Slam Master and co-founder of Global Movement, Jerome Washington, will open the session along with motivational speaker, Daniel Stidham, from Chase Bank. All participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the 40 Developmental Assets and then choose from a wide range of topics, including personal safety and goal-setting; anti-bullying; teen relationships; cultural fluency; engaging your community; the high-school-to-college transition; and planning for future careers.

Link Up Greater Houston is made possible by the generous support of its partners--the Holthouse Foundation for Kids; CenterPoint Energy, Fiesta, YMCA of Greater Houston; the City of Houston, the Houston Independent School District, Neighborhood Centers and a dedicated host of other city-wide service providers to youth.

Did I mention--the event is free of charge and open to the public.
