Life can be pretty scary and it seems each year, on Halloween, we celebrate this eeriness. It is lighthearted and fun. Kids dress up and collect candy during the “Trick or Treat” activity.
But, adults tend to lose their sense of adventure and appreciation for this spooky phenomenon. Perhaps it is because they spend most of their waking hours fighting real life goblins.
Darkness is unnerving. It is heavy and cold and somehow it finds its way and tries to absorb the light from the living. It is an exhausting fight and many times it seems like you trudge through the same battlefields.
But, if you challenge yourself to look a little closer you’ll find, this time around you are different. Perhaps you are a bit wiser, maybe you have more courage to face it head on or you might just be to tired to fight so during this go around you’ve let your guard down. Whatever the reason for your change in tactic, realize you are still here, standing tall and breathing. This, in itself, is reason to treat yourself to a celebration.
This Halloween, during the witching hour, honor your journey and celebrate all of the goblins you have conquered. Remember, your soul is bigger than this life and its brightness sheds light in the darkest corners of your world!
