Barbara Jones is a Licensed Massage Therapist with additional specialty training in Shiatsu and Arvigo massage. Finding well-qualified holistic practitioners  can sometimes be challenging. Not all bodyworkers are also Licensed Massage Therapists. Licensure allows the consumer to know the practitioner meets basic education requirements and has passed a rigorous board exam.

Jones has her practice at The Center on High in the Clintonville area of Columbus. Born in New London, Connecticut and growing up the daughter of a Naval officer has given Jones diverse experiences to draw upon.  Jones graduated from the Ohio State University with a B.A. in Anthropology. She then attended and completed Reflexology Certification training and Therapeutic Massage training, receiving her massage license in 1995. Interestingly, Ohio is the only state that places massage therapy regulation under the Medical Board and has the most stringent academic qualifications in the nation.

Jones continued her studies by traveling to Japan in 1995 where studied Shiatsu with Kadoya Sensei in Tokyo. Upon returning from Japan, she began her career practicing massage therapy and Shiatsu in Columbus. During this time, Jones was mentored for six years by Machidori Sensei during which she studied the ancient Buddhist techniques of Soku Shin Do and Ra Kuken Ho.

In 2005, Jones traveled to Belize to study with the renowned Dr. Rosita Arvigo and completed the Arvigo Professional level course, which primarily focuses on the abdominal and sacral areas for both men and women. Arvigo massage addresses a broad range of conditions such as infertility, displaced uterus and compressed organs.

Jones is available by appointment only and may be contacted by phone or email:
