Apr 19, 2011 – LéaLA, la Feria del Libro en Español (The Spanish language Book Fair), will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center April 29 to May 1.
This free to the public event is a project funded by the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with the City of Los Angeles and backed by the Universidad de Guadalajara and the Feria Internacional del Libro de Guadalajara (International Book Fair of Guadalajara) (FIL). The program will include book presentations and signings by renowned Latino writers, amongst them, Isabel Allende. It will feature workshops, discussions, and a children’s program.
A schedule of entertainment for the evening hours is also prepared consisting of music concerts (Pedro Fernandez, Molotov, Kinky, Lupillo Rivera), theater (El Placer de Nuestra Lengua), and ballet (Folclorico de la Universidad de Guadalajara). (For tickets see here.)
Doors will open at 10 am and close at 7 pm during the three days of the book fair. It will be held in the South Figueroa St. Concourse Hall in the Los Angeles Convention Center. Detailed information is at http://www.lea-la.com
