Library News Scappoose: Storytime, Teen Advisory Board and More in April

Over the next month, Scappoose Public Library offers a variety of options for entertainment. Whether you’re the parent of a youth up to age five or a teenager, there’s something for your kids at the Scappoose Public Library.

April 2, 10:30 a.m.: StoryTime for children ages 0 to 5. The theme of the event and craft is Zebras.

April 3, 6 p.m.: Teen Advisory Board Meeting. For youths from sixth through 12th grades, this is an opportunity to get involved in program planning and events at the Scappoose Public Library. Individuals must apply to join the board. Pizza will be served.

April 9, 10:30 a.m.: StoryTime for children ages 0 to 5. The theme of the storytime and craft is slugs and snails.

April 11, 3:30 p.m. Library patrons in sixth through 12th grades are invited to join the staff at the Scappoose Public Library to take in a movie. Here’s the description: "Jennifer Lawrence returns and shows her archery expertise in this thrilling sequel. Also starring Josh Hutcherson. Katniss and Peeta embark on a victory tour while President Snow plots a deadly new competition that could change Panem forever.” Refreshments will be served.

April 16, 10:30 a.m.: StoryTime for children ages 0 to 5. The theme of this storytime event and craft is Earth Day.

April 22, 4 p.m.: Teen Craft for youths in sixth through 12th grades. The craft is rubber band bracelets. Refreshments are provided. No registration required.

April 23, 10:30 a.m.: StoryTime for children ages 0 to 5. The theme of this storytime event and craft is cats.

April 26, 1 p..m. Family movie time. Here's the description: "This animated adventure is about a grumpy yet charming creature who fights to protect his world, and follows the journey of a boy as he searches for the one thing that will enable him to win the affection of the girl of his dreams." Free of charge. Bring snacks if you wish.

April 30, 10:30 a.m.: StoryTime for children ages 0 to 5. The theme of this storytime event and craft is dogs.

For more information on these and other events, call 503-543-7123, or visit the library’s web site. The Scappoose Public Library is open Monday through Saturday. Hours vary. Monday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
