The Liberty Senior Center is a regional senior center that acts as a community resource and conduit to a variety of services available to senior adults in Randallstown and the surrounding communities. Center membership is free and open to seniors 60 years of age and older and to their spouses of any age. The center is a designated focal point, which provides a comprehensive delivery of activities, programs and special events essential for maintaining the health, independence and well-being of the older adult. The center strives to prevent isolation and encourage socialization and liberation. On any given day, members may be enjoying music, taking an exercise class, interacting with speakers on a variety of topics, or socializing with friends. Classes that are offered include art, bridge, ceramics, computer, cranium corner, fitness classes, Keep it Drummin’, needle work, Spanish, urban line dancing, Zumba and other life-long learning opportunities. Casual activities include billiards, bingo, Mah Jong, pinochle, scrabble, and more. The Baltimore County Department of Aging introduced the new 2014 initiative, Be Mobile, Drive Safe, as a means to allow older adults to remain safe and active behind the wheel. Liberty Senior Center has taken several steps to ensure the safety of the older adult by providing several AARP Safe Driving courses throughout the year as well as other instructive and practical programs to keep the older adult driving.
