Liberty blast by Cleveland

Kaitlin Slack's three run first inning home run propelled the Liberty Lady Panthers to a 5-4 win over the Cleveland Lady Indians in District 22-3A softball action. Liberty led from start to finish as Slack and fellow pitcher Andee Geter scattered five hits in helping the Lady Panthers post their eighth win of the season.

Cleveland fought back puling to within a run in the top of the sixth at 4-3. Geter scored the game winner in the bottom of the sixth following her one out triple.

Kurstin Martin led the Lady Panthers 13 hit attack with three hits while Slack, Geter and Kaylee Parker had two hits each.

Slack threw into the sixth before giving way to Geter who closed out the final one and two-third innings.

Liberty hits the road for three games facing Coldspring on Tuesday Mar. 12, Tarkington on Mar. 19, and Splendora on Mar. 22. First pitch for each is game is slated for 6:30p.m.
