Libertarian Gubernatorial Candidate Adrian Wyllie scored a major victory on the afternoon of Tuesday, April 29, as he secured an official invitation to the state of Florida’s biggest gubernatorial debate. The event, hosted by Leadership Florida and the Florida Press Association, and broadcast by WPBF 25 in West Palm Beach, Fla., will be televised throughout Florida on a network of 11 “major commercial broadcast organizations”. This gubernatorial debate will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 15, at Broward College located in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Wyllie and his campaign's reaction to receiving the debate invitation

Wyllie voiced his appreciation, not only for the invitation to the debate, but also to his team of supporters and volunteers, all of whom worked tirelessly to help ensure he received the invitation he was both ethically and legally entitled to, despite the actions of the establishment personnel in both the Democratic and Republican Parties.

The Wyllie Campaign team worked hard to ensure the political and financial pressure used to keep Libertarian Robert Sarvis out of Virginia's biggest gubernatorial debate in October 2013 would not be repeated here in the Sunshine State.

Widespread coverage for the gubernatorial debate

Political observers point this out as the biggest gubernatorial debate, as it will include Libertarian Candidate Adrian Wyllie, Democratic Candidate Charlie Crist, Republican Incumbent Rick Scott, and former Florida Democratic State Representative Nan Rich. Also, an unusually large television audience from across the State of Florida will have access to the event.

In addition to television coverage, WPBF's website and will broadcast the debate. Since Florida’s Gubernatorial Race is the most hotly contested in the nation, C-Span will re-broadcast the event, and WPBF 25 will also provide coverage of the debate on the network’s Spanish-language entertainment network, Estrella TV -- West Palm Beach.

Debate only one part of WPBF’s ‘Commitment 2014’

The 2014 Florida Gubernatorial Debate serves as one part of WPBF's Commitment 2014, the network, which has won numerous awards for its past political coverage, has invited candidates to complete “In Your Own Words” questionnaires, and record video statements on important issues affecting Floridians. These recordings will benefit the mobile and streaming audience of WPBF 25. The network will air Commitment 2014 segments on all WPBF 25 newscasts.
