the documentary film "Nullification: The Rightful Remedy" made its world premier at CPAC back in February 2012 and now, over a year later, is still going strong nationwide.
Proof of its lasting power, according to Steve Dutner of the Fox Valley Libertarian Party, is a showing of the film scheduled for this Saturday, March 23 in Crystal Lake, Illinois.
The film won both the "Best Libertarian Ideals in the Feature Length Documentary Category" and the "Audience Choice" Awards at the Anthem Libertarian Film Festival at FreedomFest 2012.
Yet few libertarians seem to have heard much about it even though it all began right here in Ft. Worth, Texas.
The film, which explains the right of states to nullify unconstitutional federal laws, was created by the Foundation for a Free Society and the Tenth Amendment Center.
The Foundation for a Free society is an organization with impeccable libertarian credentials.
Its president is R. Lee Wrights, the longtime libertarian activist who participated in the Texas Presidential Candidates Debate for the Libertarian Party nomination for President of the United States, held in downtown Ft. Worth in April 2012.
Wrights, now the current Libertarian Party Vice Chair, will be on hand at the Fox Valley LP showing of "Nullification" to introduce the film and to talk about the Foundation and the 10th Amendment.
Foundation Secretary Mary Ruwart, another dedicated libertarian primarily known for her best-selling books Healing Our World and Short Answers to the Tough Questions has often run for public office as a Libertarian Candidate. She is currently Chair of the International Society for Individual Liberty.
Dr. Norman Horn, Treasurer, is also the founder and editor of LibertarianChristians.com while Foundation Executive Director Jason Rink is the producer and director of "Nullification: The Rightful Remedy."
"We began filming Nullification: The Rightful Remedy on September 4th, 2010 at the Fort Worth, Texas Nullify Now event," the film's Facebook page reports. "This was the first stop of what would eventually be an eight city tour that ran from the Fall of 2010 to the Spring of 2011. What initially began as just an idea to document the event itself soon developed into the concept of a feature-length documentary covering the history of Nullification and the re-emergence of Nullification today."
Rink and Tenth Amendment Center Executive Director Michael Boldin "discussed the idea for a feature-length film shortly after the Fort Worth event."
