Veteran libertarian civil rights activist Julian Heicklen calls it "an out-and-out kidnapping" when Homeland Security Police forcibly transported him to a hospital where he was injected with Thorazine against his will.
It began shortly after Heicklen arrived at the US District Courthouse in New York City for the third Monday in a row to pass out pamphlets to prospective jurors.
The pamphlet, produced by the Fully Informed Jury Association (FIJA) entitled “A Primer for Prospective Jurors” informs jurors of their right to judge the law and its application as well as the facts in a case, regardless of the judge's instructions to the contrary.
As in the past, (Jury activist arrested for exercising First Amendment rights) Homeland Security police told him he couldn't do that on federal property and ordered him to leave. As in the past, Heicklen explained that the First Amendment recognized his right to do what he was doing.
Then, as Heicklen tells it in his email report to supporters, "One of them said that I was under arrest, get his hands behind his back and handcuff him."
As Heicklen always does when faced with arrest, he dropped to the ground and went limp and silent.
In the past, he was arrested, handcuffed, placed on a gurney and transported to a hospital where he was examined and eventually released in time to be home later the same day.

But this time something different happened. "I remained in that position for over an hour," Heicklen says, "before I was lifted onto a gurney and strapped securely. I was never handcuffed nor received a citation or summons. It was an out-and-out kidnapping."
At Bellevue Psychiaytric Hospital he remained nonresponsive to questions.
Around 3:00 PM, radio reporter Chris Goldstein called to say that he would start the publicity rolling.
After 4:00 PM or so, Heicklen continues, "I made a fuss to see someone in charge, so that I could either be released or brought in front of a magistrate. My requests were ignored, and became more persistent. Against my wishes four attendants grabbed me and gave me a shot of Thorazine to calm me down. It worked, I got an excellent night’s sleep."
Heicklen asserts that Dr. Lowe, head psychiatrist for the Bellevue unit, made it a point to see that he was not interviewed the first day.
On Tuesday morning, after being interviewed by two people he identifies as psychiatrist Dr. Striker and social worker Kari Wolf, Heicklen was released at 11:55 AM, just over 24 hours after arriving at the courthouse.
Ever upbeat, Heicklen reports his release this way: "I signed all documents 'John Galt.' I was released at 11:55 AM and voted for Ken Kaplan for Governor of New Jersey on my way home.
Ken Kaplan, of course, was the Libertarian Party candidate.
Unfortunately, Heicklen's report ends on this ominous note:

EDITORIAL COMMENT
If it's true that the government is reading all of the emails that pass between Julian and his supporters and well-wishers, let's force them to violate everyone's rights. EVERYONE who reads this article should get on Julian's email list. Make them spy on the entire American freedom movement. Maybe they'll even join us! I've had emails intercepted, also. I did not know who was responsible for this, by I changed email service provider and adopted a pseudonym because of the experience. It becomes more clear each day that our constitutional rights are being trampled on by Federal, and in many cases, state and local authority. Meanwhile, the Libertarian National Committee, under the chairmanship of Bill Redpath, thinks we don't need to educate voters. The LP is falling apart, and I think this will only serve to radicalize serious activists further, as the jack-booted thugs step up their campaign to destroy civil liberties in America. The duopolists care nothing for your rights anymore.
this man has brass cajones. to do this alone is a great service to everyone. maybe more people should stand up for themselves the way the doctor has done and we can restore the rights we have as americans. thank you doctor for getting the ball rolling and thank you garry for trying to get word of his actions to the world.
Holy cow! I wouldn't want a dose of Thorazine, serious central nervous depressant. I'm glad he got some rest and has a positive and resilient attitude. Dealing with police government, that certainly helps. I'll get on Julian's list. I urge everyone to send it to many persons. Light many candles and illuminate the darkness. Our government must be constantly reminded of their boundaries. The government employees have to live here too.
I'm pretty sure the Constitution guarantees your rights on Federal Property. What law says you can't record? I would have asked.
Those who make peaceful protest impossible make violent revolution inevitable. I no longer give a damn.

However, I'm not confident that activism is working for anyone. It is giving pigs more people to beat up, kidnap, and murder.
My suggestion would be agorism. Avoiding government and operating realistic, individualistic, sensible markets. The only meaningful measure of your success is how much wealth you produce. If there is any derivative measure, it would be how much you avoid turning over to the jackbooted thugs.
Do these agents and police, in private moments, ever question their orders? Who with a functioning brain would assist in stripping citizens of their Constitutional rights? For what possible good end? Is it just a job that they are so cynical about they don't think or care? I am truly perplexed.
The Nazis tossing Jews into the ovens by the dozen were just doing their job too. It's sick.
Another great strategy is to HANG EVERY JURY TRIAL OUT THERE.
Also, if you're a Christian like me and you get a jury trial, insist on a "jury of your peers;" which in my case means orthodox Christians.

Investigate the ramifications of the first sentence of the 14th Amendment (also called the Pope's Amendment---you do know that Jesuits assassinated Lincoln & JFK, correct?). They took our state citizenry via this Amendment and have been reaming us ever since.

Politicians and government brass have developed more and more tactics to insulate themselves from citizen protest, designating more and more areas off limits to public speech. But the most alarming part of this story is that it illustrates federal and local governments' increasing use of mental health services to avoid dealing with rights like the right to be informed of charges when you are legally detained, the right to a phone call and bail, and the silencing of dissidence with drugging against their wills and psychiatric diagnosis, drugging and confinement, as was done in the most oppressive and brutal Russian and Chinese regimes. Now the healthcare bill will give the US a means to finance it all and to track your "mental health episodes" in a widely accessible database. Capitulation to a sick society is no measure of mental health.
Proof we're past due for a revolution.
THe violations are escalating brazenly and quickly. Next time they may give this detainee a lobotomy... The biggest FEMA concentration camp in Alaska holds 2 million and is specifically for those with "mental illness" aka nonconformity problems. Better look up the Citizens' Rule Book online, print it out and give it to everyone you know. It tells you how to be a citizen in a REPRESENTATIVE REPUBLIC. Throw away the King James Version of the Bible (approved by a king who believes in the divine rights of royalty) and purchase the Geneva Bible with notes in the margin. This is the bible our ancestors who fought the royalists in the American Revolution owned.

Become a statistic,they don't like that there's just about one gun per person out here in the USA statistically speaking as most own more than 1.
Get your safety training etc done and be a stat for them to ponder.

Wow. I thought the Republicans and Democrats were crazy, but you people take the cake. Why would the Government "want" to spy on a bunch of insignificant pions such as yourselves? I sure all of you are a threat to them. Hahaha. Get a life LOSERS.
So he has a habit of being arrested, and a set of behaviors he does when he is. They automatically send him to a hospital instead of sending him to the nearest jail. They take him to the hospital and he is *unresponsive* for a long time and doesn't answer questions, and then gets upset when they don't send in someone in charge when he wants them to... and wonders why they treat him as if he's insane????
It sounds to me as if he's been acting crazy all long, has a habit of acting crazy, and needed to be evaluated to make sure he is not a danger to himself and others.
That bit of paranoia about his emails sounds like classic schizophrenia, I hope he gets the help he needs.
