On Thursday night’s edition of “The Last Word” with Lawrence O’Donnell, visiting host of “Now,” Alex Wagner compared Republicans at CPAC to the villains of the Superhero ethos Legion of Doom. O’Donnell and Wagner mocked Sen. Marco Rubio’s statement that Republicans don’t need any new ideas, they still hold to the ideal of America. Rubio referred to the American Ideal of the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave, defenders of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness, and whose hopes are bound in the American Dream of equality and opportunity without the oppression of a dictatorial government.
Liberals believe Republicans are the dark forces
Wagner said that Republicans were like the Legion of Doom retreating to “Mount Baddie” to plot their nefarious schemes to enslave the world. Like Hollywood liberals who have tainted America’s superheroes with their stain of liberalism, they reflect the flawed perception of liberals about socialism and Americanism and their place in the world today. The 20th century saw many socialist dictatorships, Mao, Stalin, and Hitler being the premiere trio who slaughtered well over a hundred million people in pursuit of their dream of forcing their version of equality on their nations and the world.
Little innuendos of Republicans as the forces of the Dark Side have permeated Hollywood in hundreds of movies and TV programs. Leftists referred to Vice President Dick Cheney as Darth Vader. In “Star Trek VI, The Undiscovered Country,” Ambassador Spock referred to Klingon “conservatives” as aggressive warmongers. In the last season of the TV show “Smallville,” a self-righteous, hypocritical reporter was added who looked at Lois and Clark and said, “I’ll never understand liberals.”
Liberals believe they are fighting for righteousness while supporting the socialism of dictators against the freedom of the American Republic. Because they have been taking over Hollywood, they are redacting America’s heroes into their vision. Instead of Superman fighting for “Truth, Justice, and the American Way,” they had him declare he is not a citizen of the United States, but a citizen of the world and purpose to follow the beliefs of socialists in destroying corporations and free market capitalism.
Like Anakin Skywalker, they see themselves as pursing all that is right and while destroying all that is right and good. Like the orcs of “The Lord of the Rings,” they believe it is their time to rule and that all those who object to their rulership must rightly be destroyed and do not see the flaw in their principles. The Right has its foundation in Christianity, while the Left is based on Atheism, but that is not to say there is no god on the Left. As in the war between Christianity and Islam, the one’s foundation is based on peace, prosperity, and freedom for all while the other is established as master of those who submit and an oppressive overlord for those who will not yield their will and surrender their freedom.
Just as the orcs, the Sith, and the Legion of Doom, they see the Right and Christianity as the evil side who are keeping them from being what they want to be. They envision themselves the heroes fighting for their freedom, but do not see themselves as oppressors and destroyers of the freedom of others. Like the criminals who lie, cheat, steal, and kill for their own benefit that are caged in prisons, they see those who would imprison them as the enemy of their own version of righteousness.
In the final analysis, one must wonder how they justify in their own hearts when they edit videos in the same manner as Nazi propagandists, attempting to make Mitt Romney look stupid or portray George Zimmerman as a murderer. All Leftists throughout world history have the same character traits. They demonize and mock those who oppose them because they know their arguments cannot stand against the policies of the righteous.
Liberals rely on subterfuge and deceit to get their way. If they cannot fool people through demagoguery with promises of “healing the planet” and “free healthcare for all,” they will overwhelm the public with mudslinging and cheat at the polls. When they are found out, they change their name from socialist to liberal to progressive, rename global warming “climate change,” and promise that they have the power to change the world. Yet all they ever do is drag mankind back down into corruption and slavery under another dictatorship.
