Liberal media whines over lack of dirt in Sarah Palin's emails

Now that over 24,000 pages of Sarah Palin's emails have been released, the Democrat-media complex is fit to be tied.  Why?  Simply put: there's no there there.

When the emails were released, operatives of the Democrat-media complex were salivating like dogs over the prospect of a scandal they could use to hammer her more than they already have.

But as Aubrey Vaughan of Newsbusters points out, instead of finding dirt, the media ended up with egg all over their collective faces.

Vaughan writes:

With headlines like “Sarah Palin’s emails: Annoyingly gaffe-free” from the Los Angeles Times, reporters are lamenting the fact they didn’t find the juicy details about the life of the former vice presidential candidate they were looking for in their 24,000 page stack of Palin emails.

The weekend of their release, the media had to dig deep to fabricate any kind of story from the emails. The Washington Post ran the headline “Sarah Palin e-mails: Palin maintained third e-mail account,” while New York Times highlighted her brief mention of ‘Transformers’ being filmed in Alaska. Of course, those weren’t the stories they were probably hoping to find. For the most part, all 24,000 pages of emails were about mundane politics.

Before the emails were released, the New York Times and Washington Post were so convinced they would find something juicy, they solicited help from readers.

The Huffington Post's Jason Linkins wrote, "it's really not hard to think that the joke might somehow be on us."  One might be tempted to respond, "gee, ya think?"

So desperate to find something - anything - the New York Daily News wrote, "Sarah Palin writes at an eighth-grade level":

She may have attended four universities, but Sarah Palin still writes like an eighth-grader.

AOL Weird News gave two writing analytic companies samples of the former Alaska governor's recently released emails and both agree that the Tea Party favorite writes as if she's in middle school.

But even that turned out to be a flop, as the article goes on to explain:

It turns out Palin's writing skills are still better than most educated Americans. Global Language Monitor gave Palin's emails a score of 8.2, which actually exceeds that of most chief executives.

"She's very concise. She gives clear orders. Her sentences and punctuations are logical," said Paul Payack, president of Global Language Monitor. "She has much more of a disciplined mind than she's given credit for."

It turns out, however, that the man Newsweek once dubbed "god of all things" received a lower grade than Palin for his signature "yes we can" speech.  Jim Hoft of Gateway Pundit writes:

Of course, the fact that Obama speaks at a 7th grade level doesn’t bother them. Obama was scored at grade 7.4 for his 2008 “Yes, we can” victory speech, which many consider his best effort.

Linkins writes at the Huffington Post:

Mainly, I think the media -- and I'm implicating HuffPost, and me, in this as well! -- is going to open itself up to some worthy public criticism. "This is something you'll spend time and resources to cover?" you will say. And you will be right.

Vaughan points out that all the effort and money put out by the media turned up nothing but proof that Sarah Palin was a hardworking, diligent governor who continues to be the victim of a viciously biased media.
