Liberal group re-releases 'granny over the cliff' ad in response to Ryan budget

On Tuesday, the liberal group Agenda Project Action Fund released an updated version of its "granny over the cliff" ad in response to Rep. Paul Ryan's new budget, Wispolitics.com reported.

The ad reprises what Politifact called the "Lie of the Year" for 2011 and claims that the Ryan budget will end Medicare.

"Remember what Paul Ryan wants to do to Medicare?" the ad asks.

"He’s at it again," the ad claims.

"STOP Paul Ryan," the ad demands. "SAVE Granny!"

"Some people have daddy issues, Paul Ryan seems to have Granny issues. Rather than giving elderly Americans coupons for coverage and pretending he’s doing good, he should just come clean and admit that he doesn’t believe we have a shared responsibility to care for our elderly," said Erica Payne, producer of the video and president of The Agenda Project Action Fund.

"Medicare – and the respect we have for our elders – is part of what makes America beautiful. Paul Ryan disrespects his elders and breaks a sacred covenant we have with each other in order to score points with the most extreme elements of the Republican Party,” she added.

Appearing on Fox News' "Hannity," Ryan said he felt like Bill Murray in the movie "Groundhog Day.

"This is par for the course," he said of the liberal ad.

"Unfortunately," he added, "this means nothing gets done."

Ryan encouraged viewers to read the GOP budget for themselves at budget.house.gov.

Video of Ryan's comments can be seen here.
