National Academic Quiz Tournaments, LLC, organizes middle school, high school, community college, and college national quiz bowl championships in North America. Quiz bowl is a game in which teams compete head-to-head to answer questions from all areas of knowledge including history, literature, science, fine arts, current events, sports, and popular culture. NAQT was founded in 1996 by a group of former players. Those competitors are now college professors, high school teachers, lawyers, engineers, software developers, physicians, and research scientists who dedicate time to promote and improve the fast-paced question-and-answer game that was an important part of their lives. They hope to provide the next generation of students with more opportunities for competition.

The High School National Championship Tournament (HSNCT) is NAQT's premier high school event. The tournament is held at the end of each school year and features the top quiz bowl teams from across the United States. The 2014 HSNCT was held at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare in Rosemont, Ill., on May 30 to June 1. LASA defended its HSNCT title from 2013 (which hasn't been done since 2004-2005).
