Liberace's lover sentenced to prison time

Guess how the highly acclaimed HBO movie Behind the Candleabra didn't end? With one of the main characters in prison. In reality, though, that is unfortunately what happened.

As the Associated Press reported, Scott Thorson -- Liberace's former lover -- was sentenced to 8 to 20 years in state prison this month. Thorson, whose real name is in fact Jess Marlow, was on felony probation for burglary and identity theft charges. USA Today reported that Thorson was given a suspended sentence in July which would have allowed him to avoid prison time if he complied with the conditions of his probation.

When Thorson, a self-admitted methampethamine addict, failed a series of drug tests and failed to attend a court-mandated rehab, Washoe District Judge Patrick Flanagan sentenced him to prison time. Thorson failed a drug test in October and then again in November. On Nov. 19, he was arrested for failing to enter a mandated rehab facility. This month, Thorson was sentenced in Nevada.
