Liam Payne has picked up countless awards during his time in the band One Direction, BRIT Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, the list goes on and now he can added another award to his collection and this time it’s just for him and he calls it his “most important award” yet.
Liam was recognized by his hometown of Wolverhampton, England at The Son & Daughters Awards in Wolverhampton on Thursday night (October 10), the awards ceremony recognizes superior talent that comes out of the area. Unfortunately, Liam was unable to attend the awards in person because he’s currently on tour with One Direction in Australia and New Zealand but he sent in a acceptance video and his parents happily represented him at the event.
Thanking everybody for the opportunities he’s been given, Liam said: ”I just wanted to say a massive thank you for this. My band has picked up a lot of awards over the past few years, but for me, this is the one I’m definitely most grateful for. Wolverhampton’s my home and it always will be.”
“I want to say a massive thank-you to all those people years ago who gave me the opportunities that I needed to get me where I am today, and I wanted to say a massive thank-you to the people that nominated me for this.”
He added: “It’s definitely the most important award. It’s going to take pride on my shelf.”
