THR learned yesterday that two big actors have joined Seth MacFarlane’s (“Ted”) upcoming live-action western comedy “A Million Ways to Die in the West.”
Liam Neeson (“The Grey”) and Giovanni Ribisi (“10th & Wolf”) have both joined the already impressive cast of Amanda Seyfried (“Les Miserables”), Charlize Theron (“Monster”) and Seth MacFarlane himself (“Ted”).
The film centers on Albert (MacFarlane), a sheep farmer who chickens out of a duel and loses his girlfriend (Seyfried) as a result. In an effort to win her back, Albert makes the acquaintance of an outlaw’s wife (Theron) who teaches him how to duel. The plot thickens when Albert begins to fall for her and when the outlaw himself returns to reclaim his woman.
Neeson is set to play the outlaw, and while it isn’t going to be a huge role it will still be important (and freaking awesome).
Ribisi will be taking on the role originally offered to Jonah Hill (“21 Jump Street”), and will play Edward, a simple cobbler whose girlfriend won’t have sex with him, but works as prostitute for everyone else in town. Edward tries to get Albert back into the dating scene.
So now we have an epic antagonist, a hilarious protagonist, and an amazing supporting cast; I can’t wait for this movie!
