Liam Hemsworth reaches out to hospitalized ex-fiancee Miley Cyrus

Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus may not have worked out as a couple, but it seems like he still cares about her well-being. After learning that Cyrus had been hospitalized, the "Hunger Games" star reached out to her to see how she was doing.

As a Showbiz Spy source reported on April 20, "Liam still cares about Miley. They didn't work out as a couple, but he still wants to know that she's okay. He was extremely worried when he heard Miley was hospitalized, so he got in touch to find out how she is."

Cyrus is currently in the hospital due to a severe allergic reaction. According to an official statement, the "We Can't Stop" singer was suffering from a sinus infection while on tour. She was prescribed the antibiotic Cephalexin to which she suffered the allergic reaction. She has been forced to postpone her U.S. tour dates until August.

Hemsworth and Cyrus had met on-set while filming "The Last Song" in 2009. They announced their engagement in June 2012, but broke up in September 2013. Since the breakup, Cyrus has focused on overcoming her fear of being alone. As she told Barbara Walters in 2013, "I was so scared of ever being alone, and I think, conquering that fear, this year, was actually bigger than any other transition that I had, this entire year."

Conflicting reports have circulated about how the "Wrecking Ball" singer has been handling the breakup. Last month, Radar Online reported that she was still hurting from the broken engagement, and that she was devastated about not having someone special in her life. As an insider explained, "being alone has always been a fear of Miley's, and she tried to pretend after the split with Liam that she enjoyed her newfound freedom — but the fact of the matter is that she’s painfully lonely."

Still, Cyrus has been determined to move on, and to not dwell on the past. As she told Cosmopolitan in an October 2013 interview, "I need to treat my music like a relationship – give it my time and all the attention it deserves – and that’s my main love right now. This is the best time of my life. I’m not going to look back on it and be like, ‘I wish I hadn't been dwelling over a breakup,’ you know?"

This month, in an interview with Elle, the "Adore You" singer talked about getting over Hemsworth, and moving on from her Disney Channel past. She believes that she's a stronger person than she was three years ago. As she explained, "like, I lay in bed at night by myself and I'm totally okay, and that's so much stronger than the person three years ago, who would have thought they would have died if they didn't have a boyfriend."

Are you hoping for Miley Cyrus' speedy recovery in the hospital? Is Cyrus really over Liam Hemsworth? Or is she still struggling with loneliness? Is she ready to find love again? Or is she better off remaining single for awhile? Are you glad to see that Hemsworth still cares about his ex-fiancee? Do you think the former couple can remain on amicable terms?
