LGH offer diabetes, heart health advice at Be A Heart Smart Woman session (Photos)

This Smart Health for Women event offers education from Lancaster General Health specialists. Learn important tips to help avoid heart disease and understand the connection between diabetes and your heart health.

Gurpinder Chatha, MD, will present “The Diabetes/Heart Disease Connection: Understanding Your Risks.” Dr. Chatha practices at the Women's Heart Clinic, The Heart Group of Lancaster General Health. Her specialty is cardiology.

Joann Detweiler, CRNP, will present “Manage Your Diabetes.” Detweiler is associated with Diabetes & Endocrinology Specialists.

Ann Fulton, of Fountain Avenue Kitchen, will serve as emcee for this popular event. Fulton writes a bi-weekly food column for the Sunday News.

The cost is $10 and includes a meal and a special gift. Registration is required. Arrive at your leisure after 4:30 p.m. and enjoy a light meal. Exhibits will run 6 - 8 p.m.

Lipid screenings will be offered to those who arrive early. The Heart Group of Lancaster General Health team will discuss your results and offer tips to help you manage your risk for heart disease. Screenings are limited.
