LGBT Family Matters Conference set for Widener University October 15, 2011

On Saturday, October 15, 2011, Philadelphia Family Pride will host a Family Matters Conference for LGBT parents and prospective parents at the University Center on the main campus of Widener University from 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. 

Register now to attend! Early registration fees are $5/adult for PFP members and $10/adult for non-members. Children and students are free. Pre-registration ends October 10, so register today

PFP will provide free, on-site child care for kids 3 and over. Pre-registration by October 10 is required to a hold a spot in the kids zone. You may bring your own lunch or pre-order a box lunch for $5 each.
 
There are 18 different workshops and panels planned for the day, including:

- The State of Equality for LGBT Families in Pennsylvania

Prospective LGBT parents are welcome at all workshops, but there will be three panel discussions specifically for prospective parents:

 - Dos and Don'ts of Donor Insemination

New this year are sessions for the whole family - kids and parents together.

- Kids and Their Parents Ask Health Questions: A Whole Family Workshop with Dr. Alexis Lieberman

- Tools for Talking About Families: An Interactive Art Workshop for the Whole Family

- Stress Relief for the Whole Family through Yoga and Meditation

 
- Bang Your Drum! A Percussion Workshop for the Whole Family
