LG Optimus 3D all but certain to arrive in February

There have to be a few of you out there in San Francisco who have been hoping to get your hands on a 3D smartphone, right? I have a hard time with 3D movies so for now, I am going to leave myself out of this group, however, for those of you who dig the whole rebirth of 3D, this could be the device for you.

Earlier today, a 3D phone from LG called the Optimus 3D leaked out in a small little ad on the Dutch version of the Carphone Warehouse, a mobile phone distributor in Europe. It doesn’t reveal much at all, in fact, it looked like it could be fake when I first saw it.

Wrong.

It’s very real and LG essentially has confirmed it by sending out invites for the Mobile World Congress with the silhouette of a phone with the words “Into The New Dimension” right below it. Look over there to your left and you can see the invitation yourself.

They are apparently opening a new world and that world is going to be 3D. The event is going to be taking place on February 14th however, I have a feeling we might see some other 3D offerings before that.

Not a chance LG is the only one that’s been cooking up a 3D smartphone in the hopes that it can cash in on the craze.

Anyone in San Francisco interested in a phone that rocks 3D?

Seems like a bad idea to me.

Plus, wouldn't it have to be 3D in either the vertical setting, or horizontal, but not both?

If it comes with a 3D camera, that does kind of make it sort of interesting - but really, not something I'd want to use for day to day use.
