While Verizon is known to keep some maintenance updates under wraps until they've already released it for a particular device, it seems the wireless carrier wanted to give LG Intuition owners something to look forward to, as they've officially pulled the curtain off a sizable maintenance update headed to the device, as originally reported by Droid-Life.
The update measures in at a respectable 204.5MB, which means anyone who is running low on space might want to clear some room. The update includes plenty of additions, especially from Google itself and for Google-related services, and some Verizon-branded applications are being removed from the phone as well. You can see the list right below:
DEVICE FEATURES AND ENHANCEMENTS
- Email Split View has been added
- Messages can be added to an attachment while forwarding an email via Sync & Connect
APPLICATION ENHANCEMENTS
- Speakerphone parameters have been tuned for better voice quality.
- Fix has been made regarding receiving the same text message several times.
- Color and V Cast apps have been removed
- Amazon Appstore has been added
GOOGLE UPDATES
- Google Message Security has been upgraded to ICS R7.
- Books 2.6.31 includes dictionary, translation, “Places” info cards, and allows users to highlights notes
- Link a Google+ account without a break in SetupWizard
- Compass mode has been updated for smoother navigation
As far as an exact release date goes, Verizon is remaining shady on those details. As soon as we know more, though, we'll be sure to pass it along.
