The Lexington Senior Center, located at 108 Park Rd. in Lexington, SC, has announced it will be hosting an AARP Driver Safety Course on Friday, Oct. 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. All licensed drivers are invited to attend.
This course will be taught by S.C. state certified instructors and is designed to help seniors stay safe and remain independent by helping them stay behind the wheel longer. Everyone who completes the course will be given a certificate to present to their insurance agent for a possible reduction of premium. The certificate is good for three years.
Attendees will review defensive driving strategies and refresher points that focus on driving safety. You must register for the class in advance by calling (803) 957-7979 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, or (803) 755-0735 after 5:00 p.m. or on weekends. The cost of the course is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members to cover course materials.
